As the All Progressive Congress APC go into primaries this week, Governor Abubakar Sani -Bello has called on party stakeholders to return to their Wards, Local Governments to participate in the exercise.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Malam Jibrin Baba Ndace, the Governor enjoined all stakeholders to ensure that the exercise is carried out in peace and mutual respect in line with INEC guidelines and party’s constitution.
Governor Sani-Bello called on all security agencies to maintain the peace and ensure successful and hitch- free primaries at all levels.
While reiterating his stand on direct primaries, Governor Sani-Bello explained that the system would carry all party members along and give everyone sense of belonging.
“We are comfortable with the direct primaries because it is what our people and party want and we must be just and fair to all in accordance with the party ideals “
” i therefore urge all stakeholders to exercise their rights in peaceful, rancor-free and in atmosphere of mutual respect for one another”.He said
The Governor enjoined all those aspiring for the party’s ticket to respect the outcome of the primaries adding that winners must be magnanimous in victory while losers must accept defeat in good faith and work for the overall success of the party.
Governor Sani-Bello also called on party members to support the candidature of President Muhammadu Buhari, Governorship and all other candidates of their choice.
He stated, for the umpteenth time, that he has no anointed candidate(s) for any elective office in the primaries stressing that what hoped for, is a participatory and fair exercise.
The Governor, then, thanked all members for their loyalty and support urging them to continue to work for the progress and success of the party before, during and after the primaries in order to emerge victorious in the forthcoming general elections in 2019.
