The Police Service Commission (PSC) has announced the release of the names of successful applicants in the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables into the Nigeria Police Force.
The Commission said the development follows the successful conclusion of a comprehensive, inclusive, equitable and transparent recruitment exercise conducted in collaboration with key stakeholders, including the Nigeria Police Force, Federal Character Commission, Ministry of Police Affairs, State Career and Counselling Departments, and the Police Community Relations Committee.
According to a statement issued by the PSC’s Head of Protocol and Public Relations, Torty Njoku Kalu, candidates who participated in the recently concluded written examination are to visit the official recruitment portal at npfapplication.psc.gov.ng to check their recruitment status. The portal became accessible from 12:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
The Commission stated that successful applicants would also receive notifications via the email addresses and phone numbers provided during the application process.
It explained that successful candidates would be required to report to their designated Police Training Institutions on dates to be communicated later for medical examination and documentation. Candidates who fail to report within the stipulated period would be deemed to have declined the offer, while those who fail the mandatory medical examination conducted by the Police Medical Team would be disqualified from the training programme.
The PSC advised candidates to report with their training call-up slips, National Identification Number (NIN) slips, Bank Verification Number (BVN) slips, original and photocopies of their academic certificates, as well as other documents and items listed on the recruitment portal.
Chairman of the Commission, retired Deputy Inspector General of Police Hashimu Salihu Argungu, expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for approving the recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture.
Argungu urged the successful candidates to regard their recruitment as a call to selfless national service, stressing the need to uphold dignity, integrity and professionalism in the discharge of their duties towards ensuring a safer and more secure Nigeria.
