Ramadan: NOA DG urges Nigerians to pray for peace, National Development

The Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, has urged Nigerians, particularly Muslim faithful, to use the sacred month of Ramadan to pray for peace, unity, and the overall development of the country.

Issa-Onilu made this call in his 2025 Ramadan message to the nation, emphasizing the importance of collective prayers and spiritual devotion in fostering national cohesion.

He encouraged Muslims to maximize the spiritual opportunities of Ramadan through self-reflection, acts of charity, and increased devotion, in line with Islamic teachings.

“For the development of our country, all citizens must pray for peace and unity, irrespective of religious or political affiliations. This sacred period presents an opportunity for self-renewal and moving humanity forward,” he stated.

The NOA DG reiterated the agency’s commitment to promoting national values and called on Nigerians to pray for the success of the present administration in its efforts to drive the country’s development.

He urged citizens to embrace the spirit of Ramadan and contribute to building a peaceful and prosperous nation.
