The Scientific Equipment Development Institute (SEDI), Minna, Niger State, has taken a bold step to align with the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure’s (NASENI) new culture of excellence. On Thursday, December 12, 2024, the Overseeing Officer (OO) of SEDI-Minna, Dr. John A. Hemen, signed a performance bond with the Heads of Department (HoDs) at the institute.
The initiative followed the high-performance expectations recently outlined by NASENI’s Executive Vice Chairman/CEO, Mr. Khalil S. Halilu, in Abuja. Speaking at the event, Dr. Hemen noted that the agreement reflected SEDI-Minna’s commitment to innovation, measurable outcomes, and alignment with NASENI’s overarching objectives.
“This agreement serves as a framework to align departmental goals with NASENI’s overarching objectives. It underscores our dedication to driving innovation and achieving excellence,” Dr. Hemen stated.
The performance bond, valid for four years, includes an annual review process alongside monthly performance assessments. These reviews will measure progress in areas such as project viability, revenue generation, partnerships, and adherence to project timelines. This structured approach is designed to ensure the institute remain on track to meet NASENI’s targets and foster scientific advancements.
Dr. Hemen emphasized that the agreement is a strategic move to enhance productivity and position SEDI-Minna as a leader in scientific equipment development in Nigeria.
