The President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has described the death of Ambassador Shehu Malami as a great loss to the nation.
Lawan made the remarks in a condolence message issued on the passage of the elder statesman.
“The news of the death of Ambassador Shehu Malami, Sarkin Sudan Wurno, brought sorrow to the great many who knew or had a personal relationship with the amiable Prince of the Sokoto Calphate.
“He was a well- loved and respected Nigerian who loved and served his country to the best of his incredible abilities.
“As an outstanding business tycoon and astute industrialist, he impacted the lives of many people and communities.
“Ambassador Shehu’s death is a great loss to the nation. His wealth of experience and wise counsel will be sorely missed,” Lawan said.
The Senate President prayed Allah to grant the deceased eternal rest and his loved ones the fortitude to bear his loss.
