EMEFIELE: DSS raises alarm over planned campaign against Govt

Human Rights Lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Femi Falana, has asked the Department of State Services (DSS) to transfer the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, to the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for a comprehensive probe. The Department of State Security, DSS, has reportedly arrested the former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele.   His reported arrest is coming after president Bola Ahmed Tinubu suspended him from office.   Emefiele was also directed by the president to immediately hand over the affairs of his office to the Deputy Governor (Operations Directorate), who will now act as the Central Bank Governor.   Peter Afunanya, DSS Spokesperson neither confirmed or denied the arrest when contacted on the arrest       News.band

The Department of State Services (DSS) confirmed that the Service and troops of the Nigerian Army and Police Force, in the early hours of 15th May, 2023, simultaneously raided hideouts of insurgents/terrorists in parts of Kaduna and Kano States.
