Police arrest 18-yr-old bandits’ informant in Niger

Zubaida Sanusi, an 18-year-old student at the College of Health Sciences in Kontagora, Niger State, has been arrested for working as an informant for bandits.   Niger State Commissioner of Police, CP Shawulu Ebenezer Danmamman disclosed that the student was nabbed following the arrest of a 37-year-old notorious bandit, Umar Aliyu, aka Babuga Datijo.   He said on the course of investigation, one of the wanted bandits, Shaibu Haruna, was found in the girl’s phone and the number was saved as “Kudin-banza” (useless money).   According to him, the suspect…

Police smash cybercrime syndicate in Abuja, arrest six suspects

Nigeria police said it has smashed sophisticated cybercrime syndicate operating in a cybercrime recruitment and mentoring hub in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).   This was disclosed in a statement made by the spokesman of the police, ACP Olumiyiwa Adejobi on Wednesday.   According to him, their arrest was made possible after investigation and operation was initiated in response to a series of intelligence reports that indicated a deep involvement of the syndicate in various cybercrimes, including business email compromise, romance scams, and high yield investment program fraud.  …

Police bust Syndicate for hacking 1000 bank accounts using BVN linked numbers
