University of Abuja issued over 80,000 Certificates since 2019 – Registrar

The Registrar, University of Abuja, Yahaya Mohamed said the Institution has issued 87,000 backlog of certificates of various programs since the inception of the present administration of Professor Abdulrasheed Na’Allah in 2019.
The backlog of certificates abandoned since 2006 contained 45,000 for graduates and 42,000 for the diploma students of the Institution.
He said the new policy of the Institution is that certificates of graduated students will be ready for pick up immediately on graduation to avoid reoccurrence.
He made this revelation on Thursday during the press conference to mark the forthcoming 28th convocation ceremony scheduled for Saturday.
According to the Registrar, the Vice Chancellor introduced 26 academic programs in the last accreditation exercise, and had attracted 3Billion research grants for the academic staff.
He said already the second phase of the Senate Building is been linked to the first phase to ensure early completion, since it is a capital project.
Yahaya Mohammed asserted that the University established in 1988 has been operating in a porous environment, untill the present leadership decided to embark on perimeter fencing to protect both students, staff , equipment among others.
“We are the only Institution that operates without catchment area in Nigeria because of our location in the nation’s city, as it will require more attention to be able to deliver quality services to Nigerian students” He said.
