The Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) has applauded the Super Eagles for their impressive 2-0 victory over Rwanda in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Kigali.
YSFON President, Dr. Nasiru Gawuna, praised the players and technical crew for their teamwork and resilience, describing the win as a major boost to Nigeria’s World Cup aspirations.
In a statement after the match, Gawuna said the Super Eagles’ performance had reignited the hopes of Nigerians, urging the team to maintain their winning mentality.
“Sports remain a unifying factor in Nigeria. At YSFON, we are committed to making it a central attraction by meaningfully engaging our youths through various sporting activities,” he said.
He emphasized that Nigeria is endowed with immense sporting talent that, if properly nurtured, could place the country at the pinnacle of global sports.
Gawuna further called on governments at all levels to prioritize sports development, noted that investment in sports would contribute to national growth and unity.
