It was the gathering of who is who within and outside Nigeria when the sixth edition of Miss ambassador for Peace pageant was held at the prestigious Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
The event which witnessed well dressed and exotic looking a list celebrities, politicians, business men and women, entrepreneurs and diplomats coming in their numbers shut down the hall as it was filled to the brim.
Smiles and excitement could be seen on the faces of guests and contestants who were also one of the main focus of the day.
After a dramatic and rigorous screening and scrutiny by the judges, 23 years Abia State Born Precious Emezi was crowned Miss Ambassador for Peace Nigeria (MAFP) 2017/2018.
While Alphonsus Cynthia Nkechi Miss ambassador for Peace South-East, Nwaozor Nneka Annabel, Miss Ambassador for Peace South South Nigeria, Aminu Sabiqoh Akeelah, Miss ambassador for peace Africa, Winifred Kiptie Joshua, Miss Ambassador For Peace Northern Nigeria.
Speaking with the queen after her win, the over exited Emezi who couldn’t hide her joy said it was a dream come through as she has been looking for a platform to carry out her pet project which is to promote made in Nigerian goods.
“I am so happy today. I want to thank everyone who supported me especially my parents. I also want to appreciate all those who didn’t win, we are all winners and I believe that we still have more to offer.
“I want to thank the agency for the opportunity and also the CEO for the love and advice. I believe that I will do more to impact people’s lives especially children and the needy,” she said.
The other queens also promise to use their crown help the less privileged.
Alphonsus Cynthia Nkechi Miss ambassador for Peace South-East, “I feel very happy. It is a great opportunity. I hope to use my crown very well to affect lives and be an Icon. I will like to help the less opportune with writing materials, if possible sponsor some. ”
Aminu Sabiqoh Akeelah, Miss Ambassador for peace Africa. “I give glory to God for this platform he has given to me to showcase myself. I feel really thankful. I will like to work on the health sector as my pet project so that we can do a campaign on medical tourism. I will also want to sponsor some children to school and encourage made in Nigerian goods for employment. ”
Winifred Kiptie Joshua is from Borno state and represented her state in the competition. She was crowned Miss Ambassador For Peace Northern Nigeria. This is what she said: “I was shocked when I won because I didn’t expect it. I just wanted to come get the experience but when I emerged one of the winners, I was actually glad. Now that I have won, I want to concentrate my attention on those in the insurgents prone areas and the IDP camps because there are still lots of people who haven’t been reached out to.
“So this is an opportunity for me to go and give my own to my community engagement environs as it my state and region. I want to let them to know that they are loved. I will pick those who are willing to learn and also integrate everyone.”
Nwaozor Nneka Annabel is from delta state represented Delta state at the contest and won Miss Ambassador for Peace South South Nigeria.
In her words: “First of all, when I was called out as among the top 10, I felt like screaming but I just had to compose myself. It was really not easy because I never thought I was going to be among the top 10. I was the first person that was called out, I thank God for this opportunity. Project I had in mind or rather still have in mind, I thought about a talent show, I sing and I am a fashion designer also. I believe the talent show will help slot of youths who are looking for a platform to showcase their God given talents. The gown I wore for the competition, I see it myself. I also want to campaign for buy made in Nigeria goods. I believe there are people who are there to help,” she concluded.
High point of the event was the awards presentation to deserving Nigerians like Ice Prince Zamani, Peace Builder /Indegenious Artiste of the Year, Sayi Law, Peace Builder/Comedian of the Year, Regina Daniels ,Peace Builder /Fast Rising Actress of the Year, Chief Aladi Sylvanus Uche, Peace Builder/ Award for Excellence in Business Development, Williams Babatunde Fowler , Peace Builder/ Award for Excellence in Corporate Governance, Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Ikachikwu, Peace Builder/ Excellence in Public Office and Role Model to Nigerian Youths, LT. Gen. Tukur Buratai Peace Builder /Award for Excellence in Peace keeping, Chief Bar. Dan Nwanyanwu, Peace Builder /Special Recognition Award for Excellence in Leadership, Amb. Louis Lulu Mnguni, Award for Excellence in International Governance, Mike Okiro, Excellence in Public Office, High Chief Alleogho Raymond Dokpesi , Life Time Achievemt Award, Amb. Tony Benson, Award for Excellence in Peace Keeping in the Niger Delta, and John E. Mukoro, Business Enterprise and Leadership Skills.
