Adeduntan mourns late Igbeti Monarch,says he lived for his People

The Osi Basorun of Ibadanland and a leading Oyo State 2023 Governorship Aspirant, Chief Dr. Azeez Popoola Adeduntan has commiserated with the people of Igbeti in Olorunshogo local government area of the State over the passing of the Onigbeti of Igbeti, Oba Emmanuel Oyekan Oyebisi, Afasegbejo III

The foremost monarch who became king in 2004 , died on Saturday at the age of 77.

In a statement through his media office in Ibadan, and made available to journalists Sunday morning, Osi Basorun Adeduntan ,expressed his sadness over the passing of the monarch.

He extended heartfelt condolences to the Oba’s family, friends, and the people of Olorunshogo local government.

“Chief Dr. Adeduntan shares the grief of the people of Igbeti and all who mourned the demise of the royal father, who was a symbol of peace and dedicated himself to the cause of fostering unity in his community and the state.”

The Harvard trained ,board certified ,international cardiovascular Surgeon ,said he believes the royal father, who upheld the culture and traditions of his people during his reign, will be long remembered and honoured for his humility, dignity and profound contributions to national development.

He urged families and associates who mourned the monarch ,to reflect on his worthy service of seventeen years to his people and honour his legacies of strengthening the peaceful co-existence among them.

His death was announced by Alaafin of Oyo ,Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi 111 Ikubabayeye .
