The newly elected leadership of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Niger State branch, has appealed to aggrieved members to put the recent union election behind them and work together in the interest of the union and the welfare of its members.
The appeal was contained in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of the union, Comrade Jibrin Abubakar Mohammed, on behalf of the State Chairman, Barrister Mahmud Al-Ameen Muye, and made available to journalists in Minna.
Muye described the election as a concluded exercise, urging members who were dissatisfied with the outcome to place the collective interest of the union above personal grievances.
According to him, every contest must produce a winner, stressing that the election should not be allowed to destroy the long-standing relationship among members of the union.
“We are all one united family with JUSUN or without JUSUN,” he said, while assuring members that his emergence as chairman would usher in a new era of inclusiveness, transparency and improved welfare for all judiciary workers in the state.
The JUSUN chairman called on members to set aside their differences and support his administration in moving the union forward.
“I want to call on all the aggrieved members of our great union to sheath their swords. I want to call on you people to join hands with me to pilot the plane of our union to the next destination,” he said.
Muye assured members that staff welfare would remain a top priority under his leadership, adding that achieving meaningful progress would require the collective support, cooperation and understanding of all members.
“I cannot do it alone without your support. I cannot do it alone without your cooperation. I cannot do it alone without your understanding. Come, let us take the Judiciary Staff Union to the promised destination,” he appealed.
He also pledged to operate an open-door administration, promising that every member of the union would have unrestricted access to him to present complaints, suggestions and concerns for prompt attention.
The chairman expressed optimism that unity, mutual respect and collective commitment would strengthen the union and enhance the welfare and professional interests of judiciary staff across Niger State.
