The group also called for immediate government intervention to address the alleged malpractices.
Aro highlighted the severe impact of GTBank’s operations on rural communities, particularly on elderly citizens who depend on remittances for their daily needs. He claimed that many rural recipients either do not receive their funds or fail to get transfer notifications, leading to widespread frustration among the bank’s customers.
He further lambasted GTBank’s customer service, described it as disorganised and unresponsive. According to Aro, customers often encounter rude and unhelpful representatives, making it difficult to resolve issues effectively.
Speaking on behalf of affected Nigerians, Aro warned that the bank’s alleged fraudulent activities could have serious repercussions on the nation’s economy and security. He called on the federal government to launch an investigation into GTBank’s operations.
Comrade Emmanuel Oteku, a GTBank customer, echoed Aro’s concerns, recounting a personal ordeal where a transfer he made failed to reach the recipient, with his attempts to resolve the issue proving futile.
