The All Progressives Congress (APC) has congratulated its National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, on his 58th birthday, describing his tenure as one marked by purposeful leadership, party unity and institutional strengthening.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) said it was celebrating Yilwatda’s birthday with gratitude to God for his life, wisdom and service to the party and the nation.
The NWC commended the APC national chairman for what it described as “forthright and inclusive leadership” since his assumption of office, saying his stewardship had strengthened the party’s internal democracy, deepened unity and enhanced its institutional capacity.
According to the party, one of the notable achievements under Yilwatda’s leadership was the successful implementation of its electronic membership registration exercise, which it said had expanded the APC’s membership base and further consolidated its position as Nigeria’s largest political party.
The APC said Yilwatda had also continued to align the party’s activities with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, while positioning the APC for sustained electoral successes and reinforcing its commitment to democratic values, good governance and national development.
“On behalf of the National Working Committee, the National Executive Committee, leaders, members and supporters of our great Party, at home and abroad, we extend our heartiest congratulations to our iconic National Chairman on this special anniversary,” the statement said.
The party prayed for many more years of sound health, wisdom, strength and divine grace for Yilwatda as he continues to lead the APC in its service to Nigeria and humanity.
Yilwatda, a professor and former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, assumed the leadership of the APC at a critical period in the party’s preparations for future electoral contests.
