Niger State Police Command denied a publication circulating in some social media that “Notorious bandit declared self as Governor in Niger State”.
The Command in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer,DSP W. A Abiodun described the publication as false in its entirety, and it only existed in the figment of the imagination of the author.
The command said the Joint security teams in the State in collaboration with the State Government were working assiduously to address the security challenges at hand, while tactical teams are placed at strategic locations within the volatile areas for security coverage.
The command therefore urged members of the public to ignore such publication, as it is an attempt by mischief makers to cause panic through propaganda.
News reporters are equally advised to desist from peddling such propaganda through their various platforms, as a respected fourth estate of the realm.
