Niger State Government has commiserated with the people of Mashegu Local Government Area of the State on the recent attack by Bandits, who killed seven innocent citizens in Baban-Rami, Mashegu Local Government.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim Matane who led a delegation to the families of those who lost their loved ones as a result of the violent attacks, reassured the people of the State that the present administration led by Governor Abubakar Sani Bello is committed to ending banditry, kidnapping and other criminality in the State.
Ahmed Matane called on the people of the State not to despair but to see the activities of bandits and other criminal elements in the State as a challenge to step up collective actions to defeat the enemies in collaboration with Government and security agencies.
The SSG urged Nigerlites to support Government efforts in tackling the security challenges bedeviling the State by reporting any suspicious characters, movements, or objects in their midst to security agencies, adding that security is everybody’s business.
He then enjoined Traditional, Religious, and Community Leaders to assist Government with relevant information of any suspicious activities or movement in their areas with a view to aiding the work of security agents in fighting insecurity in the State.
Responding, Alhaji Musa Adamu, Sarkin Baban-Rami, Wakilin Hakimin Kaboji described the visit of SSG as encouraging to the purposeful leadership of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello and the high level of commitment by the Government to end banditry in the State.
Alhaji Adamu assured the SSG that the people of the area will not relent or be deterred by any factor until peace is fully attained in Baban-Rami, Mashegu Local Government, and the State in general, stressed that they will continue to pray fervently to achieve the set objectives.
