A twenty-three-year-old female auto mechanic in Ibadan, Oyo State has been encouraged through BASA Foundation
Southwest-Frontier News reports that the female Mechanic, Miss Adijat Olawunmi Ganiyu is currently undergoing Higher National Diploma in mechanical engineering at the citadel of learning, the Polytechnic Ibadan, Oyo State.
Speaking during the surprise pronouncement of the full sponsored scholarship and financial empowerment to the young Girl, in a Instagram live chat, the founder BASA foundation, Hon Bolanle Sarumi-Aliyu, said that the foundation designed the programme purposely to encourage Adijat especially as a woman so that other women can look inward to their talents and make use to increased productivity.
“I am here to celebrate diligence and hard work in the young professional. I have been watching her doing her job well. The recognition programme through full sponsored scholarship for Adijat (the female mechanic) by BASA Foundation is aimed at celebrating hard-working people. We want people to know that the foundation is watching you and ready to appreciate you for a job well done. We are on the lookout for every other person doing well; be it in public or private business. Whilst I urge other female SME’s owners to keep thriving”.
Also speaking, the beneficiary, Adijat said she is determined to become a renowned automobile mechanic and to adopt the profession as a means of livelihood.
“To be a mechanic is my dream and I have planned and I am working hard to be a certified mechanical engineer in the nearest future. I want to be able to build automobiles on my own,” she said.
The founder ,BASA foundation pledged to partner the female mechanic in a “pimp my ride” series, while tasked her to pimp a micra, a bus and two other cars she noted that the interview would be a monthly program and other persons would be invited for the live chats all in the space of one year to discover more talents.
Four of Adijat’s colleagues in the trade, would also be appreciated with cash rewards. Hon Bolanle Sarumi-Aliyu concluded.
