President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated Governor Ademola Adeleke on his re-election as Governor of Osun State, describing the victory as a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in Nigeria.
The President, in a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said he had earlier called Adeleke to congratulate him on his electoral victory.
President Tinubu said the outcome of the election confirmed the confidence reposed in Adeleke by the people of Osun State, while wishing the governor success as he prepares to lead the state for another four years.
He urged Adeleke to use his renewed mandate to unite the people of Osun State and mobilise them for growth, stability and socio-economic development, irrespective of their political affiliations or choices during the election.
“I called Governor Ademola Adeleke earlier today to congratulate him on his election victory in Osun State. His victory once again confirmed the confidence the people of Osun State have in him,” the President said.
He also commended the other contestants for the courage and discipline they demonstrated throughout the electoral process, noting that their participation contributed to strengthening Nigeria’s democratic culture.
“The outcome of the election reflects the will of the people and is a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in our land,” Tinubu said.
The President further commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for conducting what he described as a peaceful and transparent election that produced a clear winner.
He urged all stakeholders to respect the outcome of the election and work together for the peace and development of Osun State.
