Baynakum trains 8 members of Sisters Halaqa Foundation as Marriage Counsellors,Life Coaches

Hajia Dr. Hajara Yusuf, the Ameerah of Sisters Halaqa foundation, has said no fewer than eight members of the foundation have now been trained and certified to practice Islamic marriage counseling.

The Sister’s Halaqah foundation is a group of like-minded sisters that started out 13 years ago by regularly convening to brainstorm and proffer solutions to common societal problems. “Marital issues, mentoring and coaching had always been our passion”. Hajia Dr. Hajara disclosed this to Epistemic consult media in Abuja at sunrise international school, Asokoro, the venue of the ceremony for the graduating trainees, on Sunday 27th of September 2020.

The Ameerah said, the training was organised because of the growing necessity to mentor and counsel married couples and prospective couples. “This is in a bid to stem the tide of divorce, broken homes and difficult marriages drowning the ummah.”

“We are going through difficult times, and a lot of these stem from marital discord and broken homes due to increased divorce rates.” We envisaged that having formal certification to practice our passion will make us better equipped and position us to deliver better and wider service to our community.

Hajia Dr. Bilqis, one of the members of sisters Halaqa who is also among the graduating students said the participants have been trained to carry out a huge mission to save the family unit which is the building block of all nations. She advised upcoming counselors to take the bold step and learn the nitty-gritty of the job, – “acquire the knowledge, get the experience and have the necessary tools to be more effective”, she said.

Baynakum unit of marriage counseling, counsels couples, singles, widows, widowers and single parents. Baynakum family counseling Centre also trains interested clients to become life coaches in various fields of human endeavor.

Ustaz Abdulfattah Adeyemi- CEO Baynakum family counseling Centre, admonished the graduants on the ethics of the profession encouraged them to go out and make Baynakum and the ummah at large proud.
The Training Coordinator said, the graduating counselors are good to go. “They were excellent in there assessment tests” says Olayode Abdurasaq.

One of the instructors, Hajia Aishat Adaviruku who spoke about the graduants emotional intelligence said their grasp of the topic demonstrated how prepared they were prior to enrolling for the course.
