Buhari affirmes Ize-Iyamu’s candidacy ,as NEC dissolves APC NWC

The National Executive Committee meeting of the All Progressives Congress presided over by President Buhari, has affirmed Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu’s emergence as the party’s candidate in Edo state ,President also directed the immediate submission of his name to INEC in compliance with electoral guidelines.

This was also as the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been dissolved by the National Executive Committee of the ruling party.

NEC , to avoid complication,further directed all party members and stakeholders alike to withdraw all court cases and commit to unification efforts meant to secure victory for the party at the polls.

Buhari’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad made this known in a tweet on Thursday.

Bashir said the decision was taken at the NEC meeting attended by President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, embattled Deputy National Secretary of APC, Victor Giadom and some members of the APC National Working Committee, NWC on Thursday.

He also confirmed that Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has been appointed as Caretaker Committee chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).”

He tweeted, “Following the recommendation of President Muhammadu Buhari, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been dissolved.”

The decision has just been taken at the ongoing party’s NEC meeting.”

“Governor of Yobe State, H.E Mai Mala Buni has just been appointed as the chairman, caretaker committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC).”

Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu will be representing the All Progressives Congress in the Edo Governorship Election slated for September after a ratification of the party primaries on Monday by the National Executive Committee in its ongoing meeting at the State House in Abuja.
