The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, on Monday, 16th June 2025, began a three-day working visit to the Kingdom of Denmark. The visit, at the invitation of the Royal Danish Navy, is aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation and maritime security collaboration between the two countries.
Day one of the visit featured a symbolic boat cruise led by the Admiral of the Danish Navy, Rear Admiral Søren Kjeldsen. Vice Admiral Ogalla was accompanied on the tour by Nigeria’s Acting Ambassador to Sweden and the Nordic countries, Dr. Elias-Fatile, fdc; the Navy Secretary, Rear Admiral Patrick Nwatu; and Nigeria’s Defence Adviser to the United Kingdom, Brigadier General Manu.
The CNS also held strategic engagements with key stakeholders, including a meeting with the Chief Executive Officer of Blue Denmark Denmark’s maritime industry cluster and a high-level discussion at the Centre for Security and Operations under the Danish Ministry of Defence.
The visit underscored Nigeria’s commitment to international maritime collaboration and efforts to enhance naval capacity through global partnerships.
