CP FCT pledges sustained efforts at improving public safety in FCT ……. as Security Team rescues 2 kidnapped Victims unhurt

The Commissioner of Police, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, CP Haruna G. Garba has reiterated the commitment of the Command to sustaining the fight against crimes and criminality, including kidnapping and other violent crimes, in the FCT.

The CP gave the assurance today when operatives of the command’s Anti-kidnapping unit, in a joint effort with other security agencies, rescued two kidnapped victims – one James Paul and one Austin Oba, both male from Kobi Sarki Village, Abuja. The victims were abducted by kidnappers in the early hours of 04/12/2033.

 

The CP Haruna Garba noted that the Command has witnessed relative peace and commendable reduction in crime rate in recent times. He further noted that Police operatives swung into action, upon receipt of the distress call, and trailed the criminals to their hideout, amongst other operational and strategic policing efforts, leading to the successful rescue of the victims.

 

The victims have since been reunited with their family after being confirmed stabilised by a medical expert.

 

Meanwhile, the CP has called for calm, assured that this isolated would be investigated and confronted appropriately to ensure any further threat to lives and property of resident is mitigated or promptly addressed. He reiterated the unflinching commitment of the Police and the security community in the State to improving public safety in the FCT and keeping the people safe.
