Arc. Abdulyekeen Mamman, National Amir,El-Birru Muslim Association of Nigeria,on Friday 6th October,2023 commissioned Borehole project executed by the group at Ebira Central Mosque,Okene,Kogi state.
While speaking at the commissioning of the project,Arc. Abdulyekeen Mamman at the Ebira Central Mosque Water Facility, said the water project became a reality as a result of tireless efforts and dedication of the Members of the El-Birru Muslim Association of Nigeria(EMAN), which he said was a testament to the power of Unity and the spirit of community development.
“Water, as we all know, is an essential aspect of our daily lives. It sustains us, cleanses us, and ensures our well-being. It is a basic necessity that should be readily accessible to everyone, regardless of their religious affiliation or social status.
Our beloved Prophet Muhammed (Sallallahu Alaiyhi Wassallam)said:”The best Charity is giving Water to drink”Water is a great charitiable act that brings us closer to Allah.
“Today, we celebrate the commitment of the El-Birru Muslim Association of Nigeria in providing this vital resource to the members of our Muslim community both resident and those on transit.
“The Okene Central Masjid Water Facility stands not only as a testament to the dedication of the association but also as a symbol of their unwavering commitment to Islamic and human services. Through their harmonious efforts, they have demonstrated that, as a community, we can be of great value to Islam when we come together for a common purpose .
“This project is a shining example of how individuals, regardless of their background or status, can contribute to the betterment of society and have positive impact on lives of many.
“I would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude to the Chief Imam of Ebira Central Jumaat Masjid, Okene(Sheikh Salihu Abere) for granting our request to sink this Borehole at the foremost Jumaat Masjid in Ebira land .
“Giving Water is Sadaqah Jariya”. Saeed Ibn Ubaidah reported,I said “O Messenger of Allah,my mother died–shall I give charity on her behalf ?the Prophet said ‘ YES’,I said which Chrity is best? the Prophet said,”A drink of Water” Every Muslim should endeavour to carry out one form of charity or the other as it , In Shaa Allah will benefit us ultimately.
On a final note, I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to each and every member of the Association who has contributed to this noble cause. You have set an inspiring example for us all and reminded us of the power that lies within each individual to effect positive change in our service to Allah.
