At about 2:00 hrs on the said date, the attention of the Command’s Tactical Asset on a routine Stop and search at Gida Mangoro was drawn to the abandonment of a Toyota Camry with Reg. The relentless pursuit of the fleeing suspect yielded results as one Fabian Udoka Ukeugbona a 22 years old male was arrested yesterday 18th of August 2022 at about 5:30 pm. The suspect in a voluntary statement admitted to committing the crime stating that he had been into the criminal enterprise for over 3 years.
Police said the suspect and prohibited substance will be handed over to the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA) for further action while investigation continued for more ground breaking facts.
Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Babaji Sunday has noted that the feats was a plus to the Command’s onward fight against the peddling of drugs and prohibited substances identified as a major catalyst to various crimes and criminality In the Territory. while registering the Command’s commitment to ridding the Territory of Criminal elements in all rankings, he emphasized that effort will continue to be expended in terms of intelligence gathering and prompt actions to make sure the chain of the Peddling of drugs and other prohibited substances is broken. He also called on all at the apex of societal influence not to relent in using their platforms to speak against the same.
