The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has clarified that Ms. Ilebaye Odiniya Emmanuel and her two younger brothers rescued during a domestic violence incident in Wuye, Abuja, are currently under police protective custody and not detained as being speculated online.
According to a statement issued on Friday by the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, the victims — Ilebaye Odiniya Emmanuel, 27, Godson Emmanuel Odiniya, 14, and Devin Emmanuel Odiniya, 10 were taken to Yabisam Hospital, Lugbe, alongside their father, Hon. Emmanuel Odiniya, who also sustained injuries during the confrontation.
The Police said the victims and their father were rushed to the hospital by the Area Commander Metro, ACP Ufomadu Georglyn, following the rescue operation carried out by operatives of the Command.
The Command further disclosed that while the rescued siblings are under police protective custody, their father remains in police custody while receiving medical attention.
Police authorities also stated that investigations into the incident are ongoing and that questioning of all parties involved will commence once they are certified medically stable by attending doctors.
The clarification followed public reactions and online reports surrounding the incident, which occurred at Royal Anchor Estate, Wuye, Abuja.
