The Federal Housing Authority (FHA) has inaugurated a new 223-unit housing estate, named FHA Green City, in the Wasa District of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC).
The groundbreaking ceremony, held on Wednesday, is in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at providing decent and livable accommodation for Nigerians. The project sits on a five-hectare expanse of land and is being developed in partnership with indigenous firm, Green Pasture Homes.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the FHA, Hon. Oyetunde Ojo, reaffirmed the Authority’s commitment to opening up new housing developments across the Federal Capital Territory and the 36 states of the federation.
Ojo stated that the FHA will continue to initiate new projects while completing inherited ones, citing the recent inauguration of the Ajoda Housing Estate in Ibadan and the Express View Housing Estate in Abuja as examples.
He highlighted the comprehensive facilities incorporated into the estate to address security concerns and enhance residents’ quality of life, including schools, security infrastructure, a shopping complex, and a sporting arena.
“This project comprises 223 units of various house types carefully designed to meet contemporary housing needs while ensuring comfort, functionality, security, and environmental sustainability,” Ojo said.
The estate breakdown includes:
80 units of 2-bedroom flats
56 units of 3-bedroom flats
35 units of 3-bedroom terrace duplexes
45 units of 4-bedroom terrace duplexes
The Managing Director was represented by Arc. Ezekiel Nya-Etok, Executive Director of Estate Services.

The occasion featured a symbolic foundation-laying ceremony for the new estate, which is expected to serve as a model residential community reflecting the vision of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
