As part of its ongoing efforts to deliver an inclusive constitutional amendment process, the House of Representatives will on Monday, October 6, 2025, host a high-level consultative engagement with the leadership of all registered political parties in Nigeria.
The event, convened by the House Committee on Constitution Review (HCCR), will take place at 10:00 a.m. at the Signature Hall, Wells Carlton Hotel & Apartments, Asokoro, Abuja.
According to a statement signed by the Spokesman of the House of Representatives, Rep. Akin Rotimi, Jr., the engagement is designed to provide a strategic platform for political parties to contribute meaningfully to the ongoing review of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
The meeting will bring together National Chairmen, National Secretaries, and National Women Leaders of registered political parties to deliberate on a range of reform proposals currently under consideration by the 10th House of Representatives.

Judicial and Electoral Reforms
Independent Candidacy
Local Government Reforms
State Policing
Human Rights and Justice
The Deputy Speaker of the House and Chairman of the Constitution Review Committee, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, underscored the importance of the engagement, described it as a “strategic platform for political parties to bring their experience and institutional insight to the process.”
“Political parties remain the engine room of our democracy, and their active participation in this consultation is vital to achieving constitutional amendments that are inclusive, credible, and reflective of the collective aspirations of Nigerians,” Kalu stated.
