The House of Representatives has extended its New Year greetings to Nigerians, emphasized the need for unity, support for leadership, and a collective commitment to overcoming national challenges.
In a press statement issued on Tuesday, the House, under the leadership of Speaker Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, reflected on the resilience displayed by Nigerians in 2024 and expressed optimism for a brighter 2025.
The Speaker’s message highlighted the importance of solidarity and collaboration as the nation moves forward. He also commended the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for its efforts to address the nation’s challenges.
“As a nation, we have many reasons to rejoice, as our Creator has granted us the privilege of witnessing a successful 2024. In the upcoming year 2025, I am hopeful that positive changes will occur,” Speaker Abbas said.
He called on Nigerians to remain united and hopeful, assuring them of the government’s commitment to overcoming pressing issues and achieving national progress.
The House reaffirmed its dedication to improving the welfare of Nigerians, focusing on areas such as security, economic empowerment, education, healthcare, and social justice. The ongoing implementation of its Legislative Agenda (2023–2027) was cited as a framework for delivering tangible benefits to the populace.
“As the ‘People’s House,’ we will continue to prioritize policies and reforms that address the needs of Nigerians, particularly the most vulnerable among us,” the statement read.
The House concluded by wishing all Nigerians peace, prosperity, and progress in 2025, reiterating its commitment to building a stronger, united nation.
