IGALA NATIONS CUP: Kogi CPS donates kits, footballs, urges youth to engage in sport activities

The Chief Press Secretary to Kogi State Governor, Muhammed Onogwu on Saturday made donations of footballs and complete set of jerseys to the nine Local Government Areas of Kogi East region as part of his support towards the Igala Nations Cup football tournament.
The donations which were delivered to the organizers of the tournament according to him was part of his contribution to rural sport development and active engagement of youth in activities that would promote peace in the region
The Governor’s CPS added that the role of sport in promoting sportsmanship and cordialness can not be over emphasized hence the need for stakeholders to ensure that such events was given the needed attention
He pointed out that Kogi State Government, under Governor Yahaya Bello remained committed to youth development through sporting activities stressed that every other well meaning individual must follow similar trajectory.
The CPS then called on youths in Kogi East and the state at large to actively engage and partake in sporting activities as such would not only promote their healthiness, but create an enabling environment for mutual co operation and friendliness.
In his remark while receiving the donation , the organiser of the event, Kamar Abubakar thanked the Governor’s Media aide for his continued commitment and interest in the growth of sport in the region.
He asserted that his kind gestures would go a long way to motivate talents in the region to pursue a career in sport as a noble cause of life.
He however encouraged the CPS not to relent in act of humanitarianism as such would continue to endear him to the hearts of many, while he also admonished several others within the region to emulate him.
