The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved the deployment of Commissioners of Police (CPs) to various state commands and strategic formations across the country as part of efforts to strengthen operational effectiveness and deepen ongoing reforms within the Nigeria Police Force.
The deployment, approved by the Police Service Commission following the IGP’s recommendations, is aimed at enhancing leadership across commands and formations while consolidating the Force’s reform and repositioning agenda.
According to a statement issued on Thursday by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, the newly deployed Commissioners of Police to state commands include CP Afolabi Wilfred Olutokunbo (Abia), CP Ayodeji Faniyan (Plateau), CP Saka Adewale Ajao (Bayelsa), CP Ajo Geofrey Ordue (Cross River), CP Nanna Oji Ama (Anambra), CP Patrick Daaor (Edo), CP Tani Murtala (Jigawa), and CP Samuel Erale (Delta).
The statement also announced deployments to key departments and strategic formations within the Force Headquarters, the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Force Intelligence Department (FID), Police Academy, Police Staff College, and other specialised units.
Among the notable appointments are CP Yemi John Oyeniyi to the Force Intelligence Department, CP Charles Ezekwesiri Dike to INTERPOL at the FCID, CP Taiwo A. Adedeji to the Counter Terrorism Unit, CP Uduak Ita Otu and CP Ajayi Oluyemi to Anti-Human Trafficking units, as well as several others assigned to finance, administration, training, welfare, anti-fraud, inspectorate and general investigation departments across Abuja, Lagos, Kaduna, Kano, Jos and Gombe.
The IGP charged the affected senior officers to bring their wealth of experience to their new assignments by strengthening intelligence-led policing, improving operational effectiveness, promoting professionalism and deepening community engagement.
He urged them to remain committed to safeguarding lives and property while upholding the highest standards of discipline, accountability and service delivery.
The Nigeria Police Force reaffirmed that strategic personnel deployments remain a critical component of its ongoing reforms aimed at boosting operational efficiency, strengthening internal capacity and delivering more effective policing services to Nigerians.
