Kwara Govt set to distribute hybrid cocoa seedlings to farmers

The Kwara State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has approved the distribution of hybrid cocoa seedlings to cocoa farmers across the State.

The distribution exercise is part of the present administration’s efforts to mitigate the impact of Covid19 pandemic in agriculture sector in the State.

The Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Alhaji Muritala Olarewaju in a statement enjoined the concerned individuals and Associations to be in attendance at the flag-off of the distribution exercise slated for Thursday September 10, 2020 at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Ilorin.

Those expected at the flag-off ceremony according to the Commissioner include:

*Cocoa Farmers Association of Nigeria (CFAN)
*Cocoa Association of Nigeria (CAN)
*H.O.D Agric of the 8 Cocoa producing LGAs
*Local Governments Directors of Personnel Management and at least 5 Farmers and other top government functionaries.
