The Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, Lagos State Area Unit has congratulated Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the 8th President – Elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria after he was announced by the INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu yesterday as the winner of the Saturday 25th February, 2023 Presidential Election, defeating his three fiercest rival in a keenly contested general election with over 8 million votes cast.
The Society thanked Allah on behalf of the President-Elect being the first Muslim from the South that will be elected to the office of the President after M.K.O Abiola was denied his victory in 1993. History was made yesterday again after 30 years with free and fair election acclaimed by the local and International Election Observers.
“This victory is not only for Nigerians but for the Muslim Ummah from the North, South, East and West. We appreciate our Northern brothers especially MSSN A-Zone for standing and support the Muslims from the Southwest to produce the President. We say Jazakumullahu khayran. May Allah continue to strengthen our brotherhood. Amin.
“We are using this medium to call on the President – Elect to see this victory as a blessing and a test from Allah. He should ensure to deliver on his promises to Nigerians and rule with the utmost fear of Allah, be just and fair to all Nigerians irrespective of their religion, race or tribe as Allah stated in the Holy Qur’an
Surah Al-Maeda Verse 8 thus:
“يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُونُوا قَوَّامِينَ لِلَّهِ شُهَدَاءَ بِالْقِسْطِ وَلَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَآنُ قَوْمٍ عَلَىٰ أَلَّا تَعْدِلُوا اعْدِلُوا هُوَ أَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
“O you who believe! Be upright for Allah, bearers of witness with justice, and let not hatred of a people incite you not to act justly; act justly, that is nearer to piety, and be careful of (your duty to) Allah; surely Allah is Aware of what you do.”
“It is our fervent prayer that Allah will grant our new President – Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu sound health and guide him to be just, fair and equitable in handling the affairs of the State
“We also pray Allah will guide him to appoint God-fearing and professionals that will work with him to surmount the challenges the country is facing in the security, socioeconomic and educational and all sectors of the country.
“We also congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari for organizing free, fair and credible election, the President-Elect for his perseverance during the electioneering process, all Lagosians and Nigerians that voted for the new President in spite of the hard-biting economy of our dear country. Surely, the expected relief has come from Allah. May Allah ease our affairs in this country and make Nigeria Great. Amin”.
