The Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, has commended troops of the Nigerian Navy School of Armament Technology (NNSAT), Kachia, and the Maritime Component of Operation FANSAN YAMMA (OPFY) for their dedication and sacrifices in the line of duty.
He gave the commendation on Thursday, 8 May 2025, during an operational visit to the institution in Kaduna State. Addressing troops at the NNSAT parade ground, Vice Admiral Ogalla urged them to remain selfless and committed in the discharge of their responsibilities.
The visit featured a ceremonial tree planting, an inspection tour of the school’s facilities, the signing of the visitors’ notebook, and the presentation of souvenirs. The souvenirs were presented by key military leaders including the General Officer Commanding 1 Division, Nigerian Army and Commander Sector 1 OPFY, Major General Mayirenso Lander Saraso; the Commandant, Nigerian Army School of Artillery, Major General John Adeyemo; and the Commandant of NNSAT and Maritime Component Commander OPFY, Commodore Chikaji Aminu Isah.
Earlier, the CNS was briefed by Commodore Isah on the activities of NNSAT and ongoing operations of the Maritime Component under Operation FANSAN YAMMA.
Vice Admiral Ogalla was accompanied on the visit by top naval officers including the Chief of Operations, Rear Admiral Eugenio Olusegun Ferreira; Chief of Training, Rear Admiral Clement Egbinta Atebi; and Chief of Logistics, Rear Admiral Olusola Kolawole Oluwagbire, alongside other senior officers from Naval Headquarters.
