The Federal Road Safety Corps (Federal Road Safety Corps) has commended its personnel deployed for the ongoing Eid El-Kabir Special Patrol Operations across the country, praising their dedication, professionalism, and improved enforcement outcomes on major highways.
The Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, gave the commendation after receiving field reports from supervisory monitoring teams deployed from the National Headquarters to assess the nationwide exercise.
He noted that the commitment demonstrated by officers on duty has significantly contributed to safer highways, improved traffic flow, and enhanced emergency response during the festive period.
While expressing satisfaction with the overall performance of personnel, the Corps Marshal urged them to sustain the momentum throughout the duration of the special operation, stressing the importance of continuous vigilance during high-traffic holiday periods.
He also attributed the success recorded so far to the combined efforts of FRSC operatives and the cooperation of road users, urging motorists to continue adhering strictly to traffic rules and safety advisories issued during the celebration.
However, he expressed concern that some motorists still engage in dangerous violations capable of undermining road safety efforts. These include speeding, dangerous overtaking, overloading, use of phones while driving, and other infractions linked to road crashes.
The Corps Marshal warned that such behaviours remain major causes of road traffic accidents and called for greater discipline, patience, and compliance with traffic regulations.
He reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to ensuring a safe and hitch-free post-Eid El-Kabir period through sustained enforcement, public enlightenment campaigns, traffic management, and prompt rescue operations nationwide.
