NiDCOM, WIMBIZ reiterate commitment to women development

The need to engage more women in public and private sectors through mentoring, capacity building, Gender equity, collaborations and conferences, dominated discussions when a delegation of Women in Business, Management and Public Service(WIMBIZ) led by the Executive Director Hansatu Adegbite met with Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission in Abuja.
Hon Dabiri-Erewa expressed her strong belief in Women supporting each other. According to her, ” we have too many qualified women across all sectors fit for leadership.Therefore, by mentoring other Women, we are helping ourselves”.
She urged women to have confidence in themselves and continue to be agents of change not because they are women but because they are capable. She said, “when men are saying fire for fire, the women are saying water for fire”.
Mrs Hansatu Adegbite, Executive Director WIMBIZ, who led the delegation stressed that the Association is keenly interested in ensuring that women in public and private sectors are adequately cared for, empowered and their skills and competences escalated. She added further that the Association is taking statistics of both in the Private and Public Sectors.
The conversation also centred on the need for more women to get involved in politics and other sectors.
The Women in Business, Management and Public Service(WIMBIZ) was established about Twenty years ago to Carter, promote and encourage the growth and development of Women in Private and Public Life.
