NIGCOMSAT pledges continued support for NYSC Television Broadcasting

The Nigerian Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to a productive partnership with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), particularly in the area of satellite television broadcasting.

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NIGCOMSAT, Engr. Jane Egerton-Idehen, gave the assurance during a courtesy visit to the Director General of NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, at the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Abuja.

Engr. Egerton-Idehen disclosed that since February 2025, NIGCOMSAT has been transmitting the signal of NYSC Television globally through its free-to-air satellite platform. She noted that the visit was aimed at strengthening the existing relationship and to reiterate NIGCOMSAT’s dedication to delivering high-quality broadcasting services.

She congratulated Brig. Gen. Nafiu on his appointment and commended NYSC’s role in fostering national unity and youth empowerment.

“In the last 10 years, over 2,000 Corps Members have served with us, and they have made valuable contributions to our operations through innovative ideas,” she added.

In his response, the NYSC Director General expressed appreciation to NIGCOMSAT for its technical support to NYSC TV, which he said has enhanced the Scheme’s visibility and outreach.

He reiterated NYSC’s unwavering commitment to its founding ideals since its establishment on 22nd May 1973, noted that the Scheme will continue to grow in strength and impact.
