NIGER ASSEMBLY APPROVES  COMMISSIONER NOMINEES . …. Okays suspension of Council Chairman.

Niger State House of Assembly has approved the resubmitted 18 list of Commissioner Nominees, sent by the Executive Governor of the State, Alh. Abubakar Sani Bello, at the plenary of the House.

However the Commissioner Nominee from Agaie Local Government, Engr. Umar Muhammed Tagagi was replaced by Alh. Mohammed Baba Adamu.

The resolution of the House was sequel to the recent decision by the lawmakers to return the list of Commissioner Nominees to the Executive, following a motion moved and adopted by the House on the issue.

Subsequently, the House has also resolved to commence the Screening of the Commissioner Nominees next week Tuesday to Friday, following a motion moved by Hon. Isah Mohammed, Member Representing Lavun Constituency, which was unanimously adopted by the House.

In his remark, the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Marafa Ahmed Guni, assured that the House will diligently discharge its Constitutional functions in this regard and directed the Clerk of the House, Alh. Abdullahi Mohammed Kagara, to transmit the resolution of the Parliament to the Executive for necessary action.

In another development, the House has also adopted and approved the request of the Governor of the State to suspend the Chairman of Mashegu Local Government, Hon. Saidu Shuaibu for his unruly behavior to the House Committee on Local Government Affairs during the recent oversight visit by the Committee of the House to the Area, and also in Compliance with the resolution of the House on the matter.

Hon. Rabiu Ishak Gobirawa, Vice Chairman of Mashegu Local Government Council has been appointed by the Executive to serve as the Acting Chairman of Mashegu Local Government .Area pending the conclusion of the investigation referred to in the said resolution of the House.

In another Executive Communication, the House resolved and scheduled to received the 2018 Budget estimate presentation of the State, by the Governor as requested, on Thursday
