Niger Govt reiterates commitment to deliver more dividends of democracy

The Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim Matane has stated that the on-going All Progressives Congress (APC) Membership Revalidation and Registration exercise was intended to strengthen and reposition the party ahead of future elections in Nigeria.
Ahmed Matane disclosed this shortly after revalidating his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at Mashegu Ward, Matane Unit in Matane, Mashegu Local Government Council of the State.
The SSG called on leaders and followers of the party in the area to mobilize and participate actively in the exercise to broaden the APC base in the state as well as guarantee full participation in party activities.
He reiterated the State Government’s commitment to deliver more dividends of democracy to the people of the State irrespective of socio-political or religious affiliations.
Ahmed Matane explained that the State should count itself lucky with a leader that is visionary and committed to the development and welfare of the people regardless of their backgrounds.
The SSG reaffirmed that the effective protection of lives and property of all citizens at all times is the fundamental constitutional responsibility of any meaningful government, therefore the present administration under the leadership of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello attached tremendous importance to the security of lives and properties of the citizens, hence the need for peaceful co-existence among the citizenry.
He stated that Government was not resting on its oars in putting an end to the unacceptable wanton carnage and other security challenges in the State through the engagement of traditional and religious leaders to collaborate with security agencies by reporting any suspicious person or group to the nearest security agencies.
The SSG said Government was leaving no stone unturned towards the enthronement of good governance, rule of law, and service delivery to the citizenry as exemplified by the laudable achievements of the present administration since its inception.
Meanwhile, the Secretary to the State Government, Ahmed Ibrahim Matane has inspected some projects embarked upon by Mashegu Local Government Council where he posited that government is determined to achieve results by doing things differently to develop sustainable infrastructure to convert current challenges to opportunities for economic growth.
The SSG was taken around the project sites by the Chairman, Mashegu Local Government, Hon. Alhassan Isah Mazakuka, Secretary of the Local Government, Alhaji Aminu Matane, and other Local Government officials further stressed that the projects visited tallied with the yearnings and aspirations of the people of the area and encouraged the Chairman to do more.
He then commended Mashegu Local Government Council for embarking on people-oriented projects and urged the Chairman to sustain the tempo.
Projects inspected by the SSG include Secretary’s Lodge, Directors Quarters, Renovation of Mashegu Town Hall, Mashegu Corpers Lodge, Ibbi Town Hall, and Electrification of Makera and Tozon Daji.
