The Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Alhaji Abubakar Usman, has extended heartfelt felicitations to Christians in the state and across the country as they mark this year’s Good Friday and Easter Monday celebrations.
In a goodwill message issued on Friday, Alhaji Usman described the Easter period as a sacred moment that reflects the core values of the Christian faith sacrifice, love, forgiveness, and hope noted that these virtues are crucial to the collective progress and peaceful coexistence of the Nigerian people.
He emphasized the importance of the season as one of deep reflection and spiritual renewal, and urged Christians to use the occasion to pray for peace, unity, and sustainable development in Niger State and Nigeria as a whole.
“As we celebrate, let us remember the less privileged in our midst and extend a hand of fellowship to them. The teachings of Jesus Christ on compassion and selfless service should guide our daily interactions, not just during this festive period, but always,” he stated.
Alhaji Usman also appealed to residents to be security conscious during the celebrations and to report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities. He assured that security agencies have been directed to provide adequate protection of lives and property throughout the period.
“On behalf of the Government of Niger State, I wish all Christians a solemn Good Friday and a joyous Easter Monday. May the lessons of sacrifice, love, and resurrection inspire us all to contribute meaningfully to the development of our dear State and nation,” the SSG added.
He reiterated the State Government’s commitment to ensuring religious freedom and fostering an inclusive environment where all citizens, regardless of faith, ethnicity, or political affiliation, can thrive and live in peace.
