The Secretary to the Government of Niger State (SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim Matane has tasked the Nigeria Immigration Service to fish out illegal and criminal immigrants whose activities have become inimical to the State.
The SSG disclosed this when he received the new Comptroller of Nigeria Immigration Service, Niger State Command, Nongo Samuel Shima in his Office.
Ahmed Matane further urged the Nigeria Immigration Service to help monitor and check the influx of irregular migrants in the State so as to put a stop to the perpetration of criminal activities.
He reiterated the commitment of the State Government to collaborate with the Nigeria Immigration Service in addressing the incessant security challenges in some parts of Niger State.
The SSG reassured the new Comptroller of Immigration that Government would continue to support the Immigration Service in the State with a view to succeeding in carrying out its mandate.
Earlier in his remarks, the new Comptroller of Nigeria Immigration Service, Niger State Command, Nongo Samuel Shima told the SSG that he was in his Office to familiarize himself with the Government and people of the State.
The Comptroller reaffirmed the readiness of the Service to partner with the State Government in finding lasting solutions to the security challenges bedeviling some parts of the State.
He applauded the SSG for the warm reception accorded him since his arrival to the State and then commiserated with the Government and people of the State over the demised of the former SSG, late Hon. Ibrahim Isa Ladan which sad event took place on Saturday in Abuja after a protracted illness.
