Niger state Govt is committed to Workers’ Welfare – SSG

The Secretary to the Niger State Government (SSG), Ahmed Ibrahim Matane has reiterated Government’s commitment to the welfare of workers of the State.

 

The SSG made the disclosure at Government House when he received the Executive Committee of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Niger State Council led by the State Chairman, Comrade Idris Lafene.

 

Ahmed Matane further revealed that the present administration has accorded priority attention to policies and programmes that have direct bearing on workers and will continue to strive to consolidate the gains recorded for the betterment of their condition of service and welfare to the highest possible limit.

 

The SSG assured the Executive Committee of the NLC that Government would do all that is necessary to ensure that industrial harmony continues to prevail in Niger State.

 

He urged members of the Nigeria Labour Congress in the State to remain committed to their responsibilities so that collectively, “we can achieve the highest levels of efficiency and productivity that will fast-track the socio-economic development of our State”.

 

In his remarks, the State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Niger State Council, Comrade Idris Lafene has earlier solicited for cordial rapport between the Executive Committee of NLC and the State Government.

 

It would be recalled that Comrade Yakubu Garba, State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Niger State Council was picked as the running mate of the Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) which saw the emergence of Comrade Idris Lafene of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) as the substantive State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Niger State Council.
