The Nigerian diaspora community has formally declared its support for the continuation of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima administration beyond 2027, citing the administration’s accomplishments under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
This endorsement was made during the Mid-Term Celebratory Dinner held on Saturday at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
A motion calling for continuity was moved by Ambassador J.K. Adebola, Chief Host of the event, Chairman of Renewed Hope Global, and Director General of the Diaspora Directorate of the defunct Presidential Campaign Council. The motion was seconded by other prominent diaspora representatives from across the globe.
The event brought together notable diaspora voices, senior government officials, and key stakeholders, providing a platform to review and celebrate the administration’s progress over the past two years. Speakers at the event pointed to achievements in infrastructure development, economic reform policies, foreign investment drive, and improved diaspora engagement as clear indicators of positive change under the current administration.
Ambassador Adebola reaffirmed the diaspora community’s commitment to mobilize support and resources in furtherance of the Renewed Hope agenda. He emphasized the role of Nigerians in the diaspora as vital partners in national development and assured continued collaboration towards achieving the administration’s long-term goals.
Other contributors commended the Tinubu-Shettima administration for its efforts in tackling national challenges and repositioning Nigeria for sustainable growth. They stressed the importance of leadership continuity to consolidate on the gains made thus far.
The highlight of the evening was a renewed pledge by diaspora leaders to remain actively engaged in national progress and contribute meaningfully to the administration’s transformational agenda.
The event witnessed an impressive turnout, with over 1,500 participants filling the 1,000-capacity Presidential Banquet Hall, underscoring the overwhelming support for the Renewed Hope vision.
Vice President HE Kashim Shettima, GCON, was represented by Alhaji Aliyu Modibbo Umar, PhD, Special Adviser to the President.
Also in attendance were several high-profile dignitaries, including:
Chief Babatunde Ogala, SAN, Senior Counsel to the President;
Air Marshal Isiaka Adedayo Amao (Rtd), CFR, immediate past Chief of Air Staff;
Dr. Nurudeen Abubakar Zauro, Technical Adviser to the President on Economic & Financial Inclusion; as well as other dignitaries, including traditional rulers and respected public figures.
In his closing remarks, Ambassador J.K. Adebola, the Chief Host, expressed appreciation to all participants and reaffirmed the commitment of The Renewed Hope Global Virtual Town Hall Conference (VTHC) to adding value to the Tinubu administration.
He also announced the resumption of the weekly virtual conference on Saturday, 7th June 2025, and urged members to stay engaged and help spread the message of Renewed Hope.
