Nigerian Navy boosts Education infrastructure with new Six-Classroom Block at NNSS Abeokuta

As part of its continued commitment to educational development and support for naval families and host communities, the Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS), Vice Admiral EI Ogalla, Admiralty Medal, has commissioned a newly constructed six-classroom block at the Nigerian Navy Secondary School (NNSS), Abeokuta. The commissioning was carried out on his behalf by the Chief of Administration, Rear Admiral GSM Aligwe.

In his remarks, Rear Admiral Aligwe highlighted the Nigerian Navy’s strategic focus on human capital development, emphasizing that quality education remains a top priority. He noted that the new classroom block reflected the CNS’s vision to provide modern, conducive learning environments that foster academic excellence among children of naval personnel and the wider community.

 

Welcoming guests to the event, the Commandant of NNSS Abeokuta, Captain OA Adesiyan, expressed heartfelt appreciation to the CNS for his enduring support in upgrading infrastructure across Navy schools. She commended the contributions of various stakeholders and dignitaries, noted that the new classrooms would significantly enhance teaching and learning experiences at the institution.

 

Also in attendance were the Director of Naval Education, Captain CO Dick-Ubi, alongside other senior naval officers, both serving and retired, as well as staff, students, and members of the school community.

 

The event concluded with the formal unveiling and inspection of the new facility, underscoring the Nigerian Navy’s ongoing investment in educational excellence and infrastructure across its institutions nationwide.
