The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has reaffirmed its commitment to leadership development and institutional capacity building with the graduation of 62 senior officers from its 13th Command Course at the Immigration Command and Staff College (ICSC), Sokoto.
The three-month intensive programme equipped participants, drawn from Commands and Formations across the country, with advanced knowledge in strategic leadership, border security and migration management.
Representing the Comptroller-General of Immigration, Kemi Nandap, at the graduation ceremony on Saturday, Assistant Comptroller-General in charge of the Directorate of Human Resource Management, ACG SU Agba, charged the graduating officers to uphold professionalism, integrity and excellence in leadership as they return to their various duty posts.
He urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by demonstrating accountability, innovation and transformational leadership while contributing to the Service’s mandate of securing Nigeria’s borders and managing migration effectively.
The Commandant of the Immigration Command and Staff College, ACG A.D. Bagari, congratulated the officers on successfully completing the rigorous training programme, describing it as a significant milestone in their professional careers.
Bagari encouraged the graduates to apply the knowledge and leadership skills acquired during the course to enhance operational effectiveness, remain responsive to the demands of public service and sustain vigilance in safeguarding the nation’s borders.
Speaking on behalf of the Comptroller-General, Agba reiterated the Service’s resolve to build a highly professional, disciplined and technology-driven workforce capable of addressing emerging migration and border security challenges.
Highlights of the ceremony included the conferment of the Pass Command Course (PCC) honour on the 62 graduates, presentation of awards to outstanding participants by the Comptroller-General’s representative and other distinguished guests, as well as the decoration of Course Provosts with Badges of Honour in recognition of their exemplary service.
The event was attended by the representative of the Sultan of Sokoto, heads and representatives of security agencies, as well as other invited guests, who commended the Nigeria Immigration Service for its sustained investment in leadership development and institutional excellence.
