The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, has reiterated the Corps’ commitment to fostering stronger ties with the Federal Fire Service (FFS) in a bid to improve public safety and contribute to national development.
Prof. Audi made this declaration during a courtesy visit by the Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, CGF Olumode Samuel Adeyemi, at the NSCDC National Headquarters in Abuja. The meeting centered on the need for a deeper inter-agency collaboration, with a focus on safeguarding fire-fighting personnel and their equipment.
In his address, Prof. Audi congratulated CGF Adeyemi on his recent appointment, while stressing that no single agency possessed a monopoly on safety strategies. He highlighted the importance of the three C’s – Collaboration, Cooperation, and Coordination in ensuring a more effective approach to national security and safety.
The two agencies also discussed joint capacity-building initiatives, including specialized training programs aimed at enhancing their combined operational capabilities in times of crisis.
“This collaboration will not only protect our personnel and equipment but will also ensure that both agencies are better prepared to respond effectively in emergencies,” Prof. Audi said.
The meeting marked a significant step towards bridging the gap between the NSCDC and FFS in safeguarding lives, properties, and infrastructure across the country.
By fostering stronger ties and improving their collective response strategies, both agencies aimed to enhance the security and safety of Nigerians, ensuring a more resilient and prepared emergency response system.
