NULGE President, Workers applaud Oyetola …as Governor pardons demoted local government workers

The president, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Osun State chapter, Comrade Adeyeye Jacob Adedeji, has appreciated Governor Adegboyega Oyetola for reversing the demotion of some local government workers who embarked on further studies without approval.

Adeyeye who expressed the Union’s appreciation to the governor while fielding questions from journalists in Osogbo, said with the pardon, “Oyetola has proven that he belongs to the grassroots.”

He, however, admonished local government workers who intend to enhance themselves by furthering their studies to go through the necessary procedure before embarking on such, noted that their isn’t any rule prohibiting them from doing so.

Similarly, some of the affected workers, whose demotion was reversed, thanked Governor Oyetola for pardoning them despite acting contrary to the civil service rule by embarking on further studies without approval.

In their various accounts, Mrs Ojo Esther Adesola, Principal Executive Officer and Oginni Samuel Olusegun, Principal Accounting officer, Local Government Service Commission, appreciated the Governor for the clemency bestowed on them despite erring against the rule of their engagement by embarking on further studies without seeking approval.

Also Comrade Ajala Kayode Adewale, Principal Community Development Officer and Mrs Afolabi Olufunke Wumi said they were not expecting the reinstatement letters but were very happy when the news of their demotion reversal broke out. They therefore, appreciated the Governor for his kind gesture.

The duo, however, urged their colleagues to always go through the appropriate channel and procedures while seeking to upgrade themselves academically.
