OKA COMMUNITY APPLAUDS GOVERNOR AKEREDOLU OVER ROAD PROJECT

The people of Oka in Akoko Southwest Area of Ondo state have expressed their gratitude to Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for reconstructing the Oke Oka road.

A high powered delegation of the Oka in Council by Chief Seinde Arogbofa gave the commendation during a thank you visit to the the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure Hon Taofiq Abdulsalam.

Chief Arogbofa who was accompanied by seven other Chiefs, said they came in the name of Olubaka of Oka to thank the Governor for giving the notorious road priority

Chief Arogbofa said many lives had been lost on the Oke Oka road through accidents in the past without much attention from past administrations.

He therefore said Oka community and other road users would not forget Governor Akeredolu in a hurry for the lives that would be saved through reconstructing the road.

In his response, the Commissioner for works and Infrastructure, Hon Taofiq Abdulsalam who said the Governor was deeply concerned about the incessant reports of carnages on the road had directed that it should be reconstructed to avoid further loss of lives and property

Hon. Abdulsalam used the occasion to appeal to the residents to cooperate with the contractor to ensure timely completion of the road

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Infrastructure, Engr. Olayiwola Aminu said although the economy is in bad shape, the government would not shirk in its responsibility of making life more bearable for the people

Members of Oka in Council on the visit were Chief Agbologun, Chief Olofin, Chief Ataarin, Chief Mrs Omotola, Chief D O Ologun , Chief Olusopirin, and Chief Aro.
