The Peoples Alliance for Indigenous Rights (PAIR) has praised Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo for his achievements in his first 100 days in office, describing his leadership as bold, result-driven, and people-oriented.
Speaking on behalf of the group, PAIR’s National Coordinator, Adolor Asoro, highlighted the governor’s impressive strides across various sectors, noting that his administration has brought renewed hope to the people of Edo State.
“Across the 18 local government areas, you can feel the pulse and excitement of the people, given the massive projects and impact of the governor’s leadership. His administration has shown a clear commitment to the welfare of Edo people,” Asoro stated.
Asoro commended the governor for approving the promotion of 8,476 primary and junior secondary school teachers across the state—an unprecedented move that reflects his dedication to education and human capital development.
“Additionally, Governor Okpebholo has taken a bold step by renovating 100 schools within his first 100 days in office. This is a remarkable feat, especially considering that such efforts were neglected for the past eight years,” he added.
PAIR also applauded the governor’s firm stance on accountability and transparency, citing his swift action in dismissing two top officials over corruption allegations.
“No governor in Nigeria has taken such a decisive anti-corruption step within weeks of assuming office. This sends a strong message that Edo State’s resources are in safe hands,” Asoro remarked.
On security, the group acknowledged the governor’s efforts in tackling criminal activities, noting that law enforcement agencies had arrested over 100 individuals involved in various crimes across the state.
Reiterating the need for public support, PAIR urged the people of Edo State to stand behind Governor Okpebholo in his quest to drive meaningful development.
“Governor Okpebholo was created for a time such as this, and Edolites must rally behind him to reverse the decay of the past eight years. There is no going back to Egypt,” Asoro emphasized.
The group encouraged the governor to remain focused and unwavering in his commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy, assured him of their continued support.
