The Ooni of Ife, Arole Oduduwa Olofin Adimula, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, has called on Nigerians to embrace integrity, shun covetousness, and uphold the values of hard work, due process, and the rule of law as the nation enters 2025.
Speaking at the annual end-of-year thanksgiving ceremony held on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at the Ojaja Arena within The Ife Grand Resort and Industrial Park, Ile-Ife, the Ooni emphasized that collective responsibility and ethical behavior are crucial for Nigeria’s growth under the Renewed Hope agenda of the federal government.
“Let us not allow covetousness to destroy the wealth of our nation,” the monarch urged, highlighted the importance of unity and selflessness in achieving prosperity.
The event, which included the presentation of awards to outstanding staff of Ojaja Pan Africa Limited, provided an opportunity for the Ooni to encourage leaders in politics, civil service, and the private sector to prioritize the welfare of their employees and the masses.
“Think about your staff, manage them well, and do not make life difficult for them,” the Ooni advised, stressing the need for leaders to create supportive environments for their teams.
He acknowledged the sacrifices made by Nigerians in recent times and expressed optimism about the opportunities 2025 holds for overcoming national challenges. “Unity and selflessness will be critical in building a prosperous and peaceful nation,” he noted.
In recognition of excellence, the Ooni awarded ₦4 million to the Best Staff of the Year, while other employees received cash prizes and gifts. The event was organized by Olori Aderonke Ogunwusi, the queen, as part of her supportive initiatives for the workforce.
The Ooni concluded the ceremony with prayers for a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria, reaffirming his commitment to fostering unity and national development.
