Oyo State gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ololade Usman Bakare, has successfully scaled through the party’s screening exercise in Abuja ahead of the 2027 general elections, expressing confidence in his chances of clinching the governorship ticket.
Bakare appeared before the APC Screening Committee on Saturday alongside other aspirants seeking to emerge as the party’s candidate for the Oyo governorship election.
Addressing journalists shortly after the exercise, the cyber security expert described the screening process as credible, transparent and encouraging, while reaffirming his commitment to the ideals and progressive vision of the APC.
He noted that the interaction with members of the committee was fruitful and provided an avenue for all eleven gubernatorial aspirants from Oyo State to articulate their vision for governance, economic growth and sustainable development in the state.
Bakare expressed optimism about emerging as the party’s flagbearer, stressing that his aspiration is driven by a genuine passion to reposition Oyo State through purposeful leadership and people-oriented policies.
According to him, the APC remained the most viable platform to deliver effective governance and sustainable development to the people of Oyo State.
He also commended the leadership of the APC for ensuring a peaceful and transparent screening process, adding that internal democracy continues to stand out as one of the major strengths of the ruling party.
The APC is expected to conclude its internal processes ahead of preparations for the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State.
